Kimberly's baby shower plans....

So....I got back last week from my trip to Virginia. I flew out to throw my little sister's baby shower. She's having boy #2! She's ginormous but doing awesome and little Carter is so excited to have a brother coming.

Now, to try to make a long story short....
I found out kimi never got a baby shower for baby #1 too late in the game so I promised I would throw one for baby #2. That was like 2 years ago. So when she announced that they were pregnant we started a joint Pin board to plan her shower.
Then we decided on a date and started making the invitations. I told her to include all her family members on the invite list so they would at least know when it was and maybe they could send a gift or whatever even if they couldn't come. Because, at least in our family, we're spread throughout Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Missouri and Texas. Then she is in Virginia.

But after thinking about it and talking to Annette and Jana I came up with an idea. I sent a private message to my mom and all our siblings on FB (excluding Kimi). Asking if there was any chance, if any of them could fly out as a surprise, it would be the coolest thing ever.

Turns out they are all the coolest siblings and mother ever because every single one figured a way to work around schedules, kids, husbands, work, money and time and all bought tickets! (Mom, Jen, Christine, Mer, Jana and Annette!)

It took some serious communication and planning but it was so exciting and awesome!

That is just a millionth of our ongoing conversation :)

SO, as it got closer I made decorations and mailed out the invites, got my ticket purchased and started getting RSVPs from her friends and secret RSVPs from all the sisters and mama. I made list after list of ingredients and things we would need to buy once we were in VA.

Then we got serious and decided on how to surprise her!

Annette's flight got in 5 mins after mine on Thursday night. So we decided to start the surprise early and she met up with me in the airport:
It really was strange (even though it was planned) to fly in from separate states and meet up on a different state at the airport. Kinda trippy but totally awesome!

I ended up having to walk a but to where kimi parked to pick me up so Annette his behind a pillar while I got in with Kimi and said hi and hugged. Then she started to drive and I pretended to have left my purse where I had been waiting so she pulled over and stopped (on a crosswalk...) and as I opened my door, Annette stepped out from behind the pillar with this hilarious sheepish grin and wave. I laughed so hard and kimi just kept saying "Annette. Annette?!?! Why is Annette here?! What the heck! What the HECK???" It was super cute!

We drove home and continued the half truths about how we planned her bug surprise. :)
Then....we may have stayed up til 3am taking stupidly hilarious selfies...

Don't worry, they got worse.

Then in the morning Carter came out of his room and saw us and came and jumped on top of me and hugged me tight. I love that guy!!
He gave me those glasses to wear...pretty sexy I know. Esp my hair...
Aaaand that's how I looked when there was a knock on the front door.

How about this instead? :)
